Roundtrip is the official digital logbook in NSW and, as PlatesPlus, in Tasmania. Built on over a decade of road safety research, it is delivered as a fully managed, white-labelled service for state and territory transport agencies.
We deliver and operate the complete service, from native apps to front-line support, so your team can focus on GDL policy and program outcomes rather than day-to-day app management.
The Graduated Driver Licensing program exists to produce safer drivers. Each feature in Roundtrip is designed to broaden the range of conditions learners experience before they are licensed.
We have replaced existing logbook arrangements in two jurisdictions, including a consolidation of multiple third-party apps, without disruption to learners, supervisors or testing centres.
Roundtrip began as a PhD research project at Queensland University of Technology, investigating how behavioural design can support safer driving among young people. We have since published peer-reviewed research with leading driver safety researchers on learner driving exposure, logbook effectiveness, and how digital tools can support safer outcomes rather than simply record compliance.
Research findings directly inform the app's features, which are designed to broaden the range of conditions learners experience before they are licensed.
Learner data is sensitive, and we treat it that way. Roundtrip is built and operated to meet the security, privacy and data residency obligations that apply to government services.
Roundtrip is used widely by learners and supervisors, with a 4.7 star rating from more than 1,200 reviews on the iOS App Store.
If your agency is reviewing learner logbook arrangements, we can provide a briefing, a product demonstration, and security and privacy documentation to support your evaluation.
